Here’s what’s been happening since I️ finally got back on the road.
Andersonville National historic site, Union prisoners of war were incarcerated in the Andersonville prison. Although only open for 18 months, 65,000 prisoners were sent there and almost 20,000 died.
<<<<< ve history so I️ thought this place was pretty cool. It's still an active national cemetery. West to Alabama, stayed at another Army corps of engineers site.
On to Natchez Mississippi where I️ saw a civil war battle reenactment.
A history buffs dream.
The battle ended with the Union commander surrendering. This brought a standing ovation from the crowd.
Although I️ was visiting Mississippi, I️ stayed in Jonesville Louisiana at perhaps the nicest RV campground yet.
Now it was on to Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas.
And another picturesque RV Park.
Up next, Texas, and a chance to renew an old friendship with my best friend from my youth….
